The geography was their source of everything when they had their golden, thriving days. They lived off of the land. Their food came from the animals and plants and their homes came from the area. Native Americans that lived in the deserts used adobe, or clay to make their houses because they had hardly any wood. The Kwakiutl tribe in Oregon and Washington has a very cold area, so they used the wood.
