Can the economy grow without investment in new resources?

It can grow for a while but it will start to be stunned in the future. Especially if the resource that we rely on to grow our economy is considered as a non-renewable resource such as oil.
So, to ensure that the economic growth will keep increasing even in the future, it is important to start investing in new resources that could replace the current one. (such as solar)
