Isaak is writing an explicit formula to represent the sequence. 64, 112, 196, 343, ... What value should he use as the common ratio in the formula? Write the answer as a decimal rounded to the nearest hundredth.

1.75

The question itself mentions "common ratio". This should be a hint that multiplication or division is involved and that the result will be common between the different values in the sequence. So let's see what we get.

The sequence is 64, 112, 196, 343, ....

Try dividing 112 by 64. You get the result of 1.75

Now divide 196 by 112. Once again, you get 1.75

Just to make sure, divide 343 by 196. And you still get 1.75

So each number in the sequence is 1.75 times larger than the previous number in the sequence. Hence 1.75 is the answer.
