What occurred during the westminster period (1285-1500) in english courts which has an effect on today’s courts?

During the Westminister Period in the 1285-1500 they were able to became rigid in terms of customs and because of that, they made use of the process of which they call the ‘Stare Decisis’, in which English Courts has an effect on today’s court.
