This is a very easy question ,
first day = 1/4th of the book
2nd day=5/8th of the book
total = 1/4+5/8=2/8+5/8=(2+5)/8=7/8
Remaining book or the part of book she read on 3rd day is 1-(7/8)=(8-7)/8=1/8=

1/4 + 5/8 = 2/8 + 5/8 = 7/8...so she read 7/8 of the book on the first 2 days....that leaves 1/8 or (0.125) to read on the 3rd day to finish it.
