Power to pardon

Article II, Section 2 o illustrates the power of Pardon for political offenses which are supplied to the President by the constitution of the united states. It states that, excepting the matters of impeachment, President shall have the authority to confer pardons and forgiveness for crimes against the United States. The authority to pardon is among the few restricted powers, which is conferred to the President in the United States.
