The steam engine was invented by Thomas Newcomen, but James Watt revolutionized and perfected the technique. This event was a transcendent change in the Industrial Revolution because of the creation of this machine replaced the use of human and animal energy by steam energy.

Also, the steam engine increased the speed of manufacturing the products compared to manufacturing. Throughout time, steam machines made of wood were replaced by those made with iron.
