The sum
of any two adjacent angles
of a
parallelogram
is
180° ⇒
angle adjacent to 64° = 180 - 64 = 116°
In a parallelogram opposite angles are equal ⇒
4y + 12 = 116
4y = 116 - 12
4y = 104
y = 104/4
y = 26
