Yaroslav the wise, known as Grand prince of RUS/aroslav I, was a great ruler of Kiev. Kievan Rus' passed a Golden era under his rulling. Yaroslav’s oldest son became the new ruler After his death and Kiev was divided among Yaroslav’s five sons. In the 1240s, the Mongol attacked Kiev and took control of it.
