I doubt like to use the French and British example because in that they held some similar elements... So lets instead go with Spanish and French.

Spain mostly disregarded the Native Americans and treated them like slaves, slaughtering many, and forcefully converting natives. The French on the other hand were pretty nice, preferring a policy of good will and cooperation.
