In plants a cell plate is formed causing the division of the cells. In animal cells a cleavage furrow is formed in the cell membrane and separates the two new cells

The process of formation of two daughter cell by the division of cytoplasm is called as cytokineses.

Step-by-step explanation: There is a difference in the cytokineses of the plant cell and animal cell because of the cell wall. In case of the animal cell the plasma membrane of the parent cell contacts in the inward direction along the cell's equator until the daughter cell form.

In case of the plant cell a cell plate is formed in the middle of the cell. The Golgi body apparatus releases vesicles containing the cell wall material which fuses to form the cell plate. then the cytokineses takes place as like that of animal cell.
