Statisticians usually lump these data and present them in terms of mean, median or mode. To be more accurate, percentage could also be used. Percentage is generally defined as the number of a specific parameter per 100 units of the whole. In this case, the percentage is defined as the number of students per 100 people of the whole population. The working equation to be used is:

Percentage = Number of Students/Number of Population * 100%
Percentage = 9,860/62,400 * 100
Percentage = 15.8%

Hence, out of the total population, 15.8% are students.
