What Susan B. Anthony does to support her arguments is use the constitution itself, more precisely, the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution. It was one of the reconstruction amendments that dealt with personal property and infringement of liberty which was outlawed for African-Americans, but not yet for women in the United States.
