In Battleground Chicago, The Police and the 1968 Democratic National Convention from Frank Kusch the primary goal of the protesters is not the main subject. It is focused on telling the story from the perspective of the police rather than the protesters. But some of the police viewed some protesters as Yippies, for example, and stated that they have now “abandoned all pretense of flower power and peace”. And author also talks about though police tried to distinguish between peaceful protesters and troublemakers, the process had become increasingly difficult.
