Inverse of the function 2x-6y=1

To get the inverse of the function, first, interchanged the variables such x will be y and y will be x.

(1) 2y – 6x = 1

Then, find the value of y in the new equation,

(2) 2y – 6x + 6x = 1 + 6x

2y = 1 + 6x

(3) (1/2)(2y) = (1 + 6x)(1/2)

y = (1 + 6x) / 2

The reverse of the function is y = (1 + 6x)/2.
