1) Genes (also known as pair of factors by Mendel) control particular trait or characteristic of an individual.

2) One gene corresponds to one particular trait (such as T gene for Tall).

3) Genes are passed from one generation to the next generation.

4) Genes are segregated or part into sex cells (gametes) during gamete formation.

5) A gene has two alternative forms (for a trait), one is dominant (that is seen) and other is recessive (which is hidden).
