Heliocentric theory, from the word helios meaning Sun, is the theory where the Sun is at the center of the planets in a solar system. The man who proposed this was a Polish astronomer named Nicolaus Copernicus. His observation that all the celestial bodies (planets) have the same annual movement except the Sun led to this theory.
