The invention of the telescope led scientists to develop the heliocentric theory which argued that earth is one of the several planets revolving around a stationery Sun in a determined order, also the theory stated that earth has three motions; daily, annual revolution and annual tilting of its axis. The stated argument were considered unorthodox by churches and led to religious controversy.
