An organism’s functions are the processes that enable it to stay alive and reproduce. Some functions in organisms include obtaining oxygen, getting rid of wastes, obtaining food, and growing. Cells are involved in all these functions. For example, cells in your digestive system absorb food. The food provides your body with energy and materials needed for growth.

I'm pretty sure that the answer is A because "getting rid of wastes" is a detail that supports the many functions of an organism. It is not the main idea of the passage, a summarizing point, or the topic of the paragraph.
