“you are your mom's daughter, right?” grandpa asked beatriz. “yes!” beatriz eagerly answered. “well, your mom is my daughter,” grandpa replied. “no! she's my mommy!” beatriz exclaimed. why did beatriz make this error?

The answer to the question above is CENTRATION. In psychology, centration is defined as the tendency to only focus on the main part of the situation. As a result, the rest of the parts are being ignored, and most likely, are relevant aspects too. In the example above, the only thing that Beatriz focuses on is that the "Mom" is her mommy and does not care about having her mom as the daughter of her grandpa.
