They had been treated unfairly in the treaty of Versailles because the fact that Germany had only three weeks to write any grievances against the treaty and it was force upon them. The conditions of the treaty more affected the citizens rather than the politicians who had been really responsible for the war. This weakened the new government of Germany which unlike the last one was now democratic.
