Depressants are usually really addictive. Alcohol is usually the main example of a downer, or "depressant". The following outcomes of abusing, or taking them is long term-addiction. If you are taking more than prescribed by your doctor, then your body will become dependent on it. If you become an alcoholic, withdraws are so severe from alcohol that you can actually die from it. Addiction is a big one though because some people who aren't depressed, take them just for the feeling, not to fix their issues.
