Tropical fish owners must keep the water in the tank from getting too warm or the fish will die. Why is this true?

1.) There is too much surface area in the water.

2.) The water evaporates too quickly.

3.) The dissolution of oxygen increases.

Answer: 4.) The dissolution of the oxygen decreases.

Explanation:

As we know that the gases are more soluble in the liquids at the lower temperatures.

When the water heats up the average kinetic energy of the molecule increases. That means at the higher temperature the more number of molecules will escape as gases in atmosphere.

Hence, the hot water will have less dissolved oxygen than cold water and thus the fish will not be able to survive.
