Why are scientific journals considered more reliable sources than web pages for information about science?

This is probably because scientific journals get cross-referenced and peer-reviewed by other mainstream scientific organizations whereas a regular webpage can tell you just about anything without anything to back it up. Their credibility isn't as high.

Answer: Scientific journals are more credible than web pages because they have gone through the most rigorous review process. They also have the most references or citations.
