Describe how a volcano is formed at a Continental Rift

Two pieces of land dividing at the fault pull away from each other. Magma goes up through the crack between the two separating sides of land, creating an eruption. When the magma cools, it forms a land mass (volcano), which is then susceptible to another eruption if more magma escapes.
