If we have in mind that the Civil Rights Act of 1866 was the first law that dictates that all citizens were equally protected under the United States law, we realized that integration and equality in the country was a long and suffered process that still today has its questions marks. Many years of real segregation, racial problems, civil rights groups, civil rights leaders, conflicts, marches, and assassinations of African American leaders had to occur in order to have a nation more formally integrated.
