8a + 9a - 1 = 16a + 2
17a - 1 = 16a + 2
add 1 to 2 and add -16a to 17a
a = 3

Answer:

a = 3

Explanation:

f=(9a-1) ; v=(8a); e=(16a)\\\\V+F=E+2\\\\8a+(9a-1)=16a+2\\8a+9a-16a=2+1\\17a-16a=3\\ a=3\\

The value of a, for this polyhedron is 3

so

Faces= ((9*3)-1)= 27

Vertices= (8*3) = 24

Edges = (16*3) = 48
