What happens to enzymes after they speed up a biochemical reaction?

enzymes make reactions go faster (catalyze reactions), but once the reaction is complete the enzyme is just like it was before the reaction.

Catalysts lower the activation energy for reactions. The lower the activation energy for a reaction, the faster the rate. Then enzymes speed up reactions by lowering activation energy. Many enzymes change shape when substrates bind.
