Approximately two-thirds of the mass of a cell is water, and the water is important to maintain the cell's integrity. What would happen to a plant cell during a period of severe drought?

It would lose turgor pressure, if you were to put the cell under the microscope, you would see the membrane shrinking away from the cell wall, which in turn causes the plant to wilt. Photosynthesis would also not occur as it needs water.
