Plants will usually droop their leaves and wilt on a hot day due the amount of water they're not receiving. This can be advantageous to a plant because this releases moisture in the air called transpiration.

Hope that helps. -UF aka Nadia

Answer:

During hot summer day with high temperature, high light intensity and low humidity result in the increase in the transpiration of water from leaves.

The wilting of leaves helps the plant to reduce transpiration but the prolonged wilting leads to the death of the leaves and the wind causes the drooping of the leaves. This is advantageous to plant as it helps reduce the surface area for the plant to release water to the atmosphere and plants can conserve more amount of water.

Thus, drooping is helpful to plants.
