The type of dictionary that is limited to a particular field is a specialized dictionary. A specialized dictionary is the opposite to a general dictionary which provide essential information from a broad range of disciplines. A specialized dictionary is useful for a particular academic discipline and it includes specific vocabulary from that discipline.
