x(4x) = 144 {area is width x length}
4x^2 = 144 {multiplied x by 4x}
x^2 = 36 {divided both sides by 4}
x = 6 {took square root of both sides}
4x = 24 {substituted 6, in for x, into 4x}

width = 6ft and length = 24ft
