A family provides its members with protection, companionship, and socialization.

Protection includes shelter, food, clothing, and enforcing saftey.

Companionship includes spending time together, like watching a NFL game on a Sunday, or spending the day at the beach as a family.

Socialization includes our parents teaching us about religious beliefs, cultural norms, and family customs.
