Why did egyptians mummify their pharaohs

Egyptians mummified their dead pharaohs/nobles bodies because believed that when a person passed away their "Ka" or life force/spirit left their body and lived in their resting place.-Cortana

and i don't rly know how to put that into my own words since its pretty selph explanatory hope this helps

The ancient Egyptians believed the soul and the body of a person were linked, even after death. If the body decayed, the soul would be lost. Mummification kept them together
