Under the system of manorialism, while the lord was away, how was leadership in the manor determined?

A.) The lady of the manor made decisions and her serfs carried them through.                                                                                                       B.) The local guild members determined all needs and provided as necessary.                                                                                                              C.) Stewards, bailiffs, and the reeves were the lord of the manor's representatives in his absence.                                                                                                       D.) Knights ruled the manor until the lord returned.
