Answer: A Majority of women worked in the factories producing the items needed to fight the war from bombers to field kitchens in the Allied Powers. As well as serving as cooks and nurses in the armed forces, but where not allowed to fight. In the Axis Powers, women where kept at home and where expected to run the house hold. Leaving the men to run the factories, draining valuable manpower. Women in the Soviet Union saw limited action as snipers and where very effective.
