The mean is 15.25
12 + 24 + 8 + 17 = 61
Divide that by the total number of variables (4) to get 15.25.

You find the mean by adding all the numbers.
12+24+8+17=61
Now you divide the product by a number of numbers.
61 divided by 4= 15.25
