Please Help, This is a mathematical question, which I'm confused on.

Annie is baking a square-shaped cake for her sister's birthday. She is expecting 18 guests. She plans to cut the cake into square-shaped pieces 2 inches long. The cake must be big enough so each guest gets 2 pieces. What must the length of the cake be for each guest to get 2 pieces each?

36 x 2^2 = 144
Since it is a square cake and we need to find the length, we would divide 144/2 and get 72. The length of the cake must be 72 inches. We can only divide it by two, because it is square and that means all sides are the same length.

T would be 72 because 2x2=4 and 4x18=72
