Hey!

Hope this helps...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Between 1904 and to about the 1970s about 340,000 blue whales were killed, the sailors that killed them, would harvest their meat, and sell them to other merchants (although it is speculated that many more were killed during this time). Blue Whales' meat (of those periods) were priced around $10 to $20 a pound (and I guess as a sailor, that money was great), and (although speculated) it is said that these blue whales were "not of any worry to the merchants", and of "high demand".
My Note: Why kill blue whales... there so cute, beautiful creatures, and they don't harm us, so why do we harm them? I don't know...
They were hunted for a long time, and they are very large, so they are an obvious target.
