well the are six sides and numbers on the dices and two sides on the coin so there would be 8 outcomes

There are 12 outcomes when you flip a coin and roll a die, because there are 6 outcomes on the die, and 2 outcomes on the coin, so if you multiply 6 times 2 you get your answer.
