How are the proteins used for active transport different from those used for facilitated diffusion?

The proteins that carry out active transport move only the largest molecules. Facilitated diffusion is passive transport in which larger molecules are transported through trans-membrane proteins and requires no energy

carry specific molecules one way across the membrane. use ATP to carry molecules across the membrane. carry molecules against the concentration gradient (low-high). much faster and more efficient than facilitated diffusion.
