Imagination is important in both. Nature is featured in both, but Dark Romantics write about its destructive aspects. Bright Romantics believe that people are naturally good; Dark Romantics believe that people are naturally evil. Dark Romantics believe that society will always reflect the flawed nature of humanity.

Dark Romantics use gothic elements.

The elements that both dark romanticism and bright romanticism share is that they put emphasis on the importance of nature and feelings over reason. Their difference is that bright romanticism is positive and optimistic while dark romanticism focuses on the darker and grotesque side of humans.
