"Atoms can neither be created nor destroyed" is a statement that has been disproven, because it was later found that atoms can be destroyed through nuclear processes. I hope this helps! :3

Rutherford's gold foil* experiment proved that atoms were mostly empty space, with a small nucleus, disapproving Dalton's theory that atoms are small solid spheres.
