Can the mean be greater than the greatest value in a data set? why or why not?

Yes, because outliers can greatly affect the mean and make it a lot higher than every other value

The mean cannot be greater than the greatest value in the data set. The mean is the average of the data set, and it doesn't make sense for the average to be higher than everything.
