What often happens to rocks that undergo chemical weathering is shrinking and getting smoother. Elements that can cause this are in the air, like carbon dioxide, and in the soil, like minerals that decompose. There are also chemicals already in the rock that breaks the rock its self down over time.

Your answer is: Becomes smaller and smoother

Have an amazing day!

The chemical weathering would break them down and make them weak which would cause them to crumble more easily
