it is basically the thing that will reverse a certain operation

the operations are add, subtract, multiply divide

the inverses are add and subtract, multiply divide

so
when you add, to reverse it, you must subtract
when you multiply, you have to divide to reverse it
and vice versa
when you subtract, you must add to reverse it
when you divide, you must mulitply to reverse it

It is basically the opposite of a math thingy. For example if you have an adding equation thing, you would have to subtract.

They basically undo each other. Hope this helps!
