Who wrote the phrase,"I think, therefore i am"? In what work did the phrase appear?

French philosopher Rene Descartes wrote the phrase "I think, therefore I am," which first appeared in French in his work The Discourse on Method. It also appears in Latin as the phrase "Cogito ergo sum" in Meditations on First Philosophy. ((Which was also one of his works.)) Hope this helped!
