Here are examples which will explain:
5 x 10= 50 therefore what we did here was 5.0 and we just moved the decimal to the right by making it a bigger number because it is multiplication

6x100= 600, here we also moved the decimal to the right 2 times because there are 2 zeros

7x 1000= 7000 we moved the decimal 3 times to the right because it has 3 zeros

Now for division

If we do 5 divided by 10 that would be 0.5 because there is one 0 and that means we move the decimal to the left once.

6 divided by 100= 0.06 we moved the decimal to the left 2 times because there are 2 zeros so basically in conclusion we do the same thing in division and multiplication with 10,100,1000,10000 but we just move the decimal to the left in division and move decimal to the right in multiplication.

Hope that helps!
