Answer:

11.31 cm

Explanation:

Given : △BCD is a right triangle. The length of the hypotenuse is 18 cm. The length of one of the legs is 14 cm.

To Find :What is the length of the other leg?

Solution:

Hypotenuse = 18 cm

Length of One leg (perpendicular) = 14 cm

We will use Pythagorean theorem

Hypotenuse^(2) = Perpendicular^(2) +Base^(2)

18^(2) = 14^(2) +Base^(2)

18^(2) -14^(2) =Base^(2)

324 -196 =Base^(2)

128=Base^(2)

√(128)=Base

11.31=Base

Hence the length of other leg is 11.31 cm
