In what way was Hurricane Floyd surprising to scientists?

Rainfall totals were unusually small.

Beach erosion did not occur.

Wave heights were greater than usual.

No major fish kills occurred

I'm pretty sure its the last one. No major fish kills occurred.
i looked it up and apparently the hurricane helped the fish rather than killed them... basically hurricane Floyd just moved the fish and shrimp out to sea. if I'm still wrong please let me know

The hurricane Floyd hit the East coast of the United States during the year of 1999. It caused tremendous damage in its path. However, one fact about this hurricane that surprised the scientists is that despite the enormity of the damage on the land, the hurricane caused no major harm to the aquatic life. No major fishes were killed during this hurricane.

Hence, the answer is 'no major fish kills occurred'.
